NanoGlue serves as the ideal assembly station for opto-electronic components, such as photonics circuits,waveguides, diode lasers and photodiodes as well as lenses and modulators. It provides active alignment in all six degrees of freedom followed by epoxy gluing with UV curing.
NanoGlue works fast and efficient. The optional OptoSpin brings the alignment time in the plane down to 1 second. This is the pre-requisite for high volume and cost-efficient production.
The powerful machine vision monitors the loading processes and allows for the optimum pre-alignment of the devices to be assembled. The electrical contacting is automated.
A precision in the nanometer regime and a high dynamic range guarantee reliable and high resolution positioning procedures. The automated alignment algorithms optimize the position in short time while the measurement values are assigned to each product.
The feedback sensors include optical power measurement (in the visible, near and mid infrared spectrum), polarization measurement, beam profiling, optical spectrum analzers and wave meters.
Dispensers apply the resin as required. Small volumes of down to 5 nl will be dispensed as accurately as larger volumes in the ml regime. During the UV curing process, the motion system can compensate the unavoidable shrinkage of the resin.
When NanoGlue works as a single station, the devices will be loaded with trays which carry one or several sets of components. The quick release clamping reduces the loading time to the minimum.
For a higher degree of automation, NanoGlue will be integrated into production lines. In this case, belts or robots bring the parts into the working position. Alternatively, feeders will be used for loading (e. g. JEDEC tray feeders). Single stations can be upgraded in the future.
